UNICS - "Spartak" – the result is "-2"

Today Kazan has seen the match between “Spartak” and “UNICS”.
Our team’s starting five included Zakhar Pashutin, Alexey Zozulin, Levans Fields, Sharrod Ford and Yegor Meshcheryakov.

Lyday opens the scoring - 2:0. Loncar increases the gap by shooting inside. Samoylenko - 6:0. Meshcheryakov fouls – UNICS scores a foul shot. Ford and Fields fail to shoot and Alexander Trifunovic asks for time-out. When time for attack is running out Zakhar Pashutin wins the first points for our team but Loncar responds immediately - 9:2. Soon Zozulin shoots a three-pointer. Likholitov fouls Ford underneath the basket, Sharrod doesn’t miss. The gap is reduced to 2 points. Then Zamansky proves quick enough to finish. After Field’s pass Zakhar wins 2 point for “Spartak”. Kuzyakin fouls Pashutin and we win another 2 points - 11:11! Levans doesn’t miss foul shots either. But the next attack ties the score. One minute to the end of the quarter Meshcheryakov scores by shooting inside, Lyday ties the score. Meshcheryakov scores 2 points from the foul line - 15:17.

Fields shoots from almost long distance and Popovich shoots from the long one - 18:19, then Loncar shoots from outside the arc. Kazan team gains the lead. But Meshcheryakov actively plays under the basket - 21:21. Zamansky fouls Yegor - 21:23. Veremeenko scores following the miss of his partner. It is a tie again. Zamansky responds to Zozulin’s foul shot, then Veremeenko scores - 27:24. Zozulin masterly takes, Samoylenko shoots a three-pointer. Zozulin fouls, UNICS scores the foul shots. However Fields again brings the score down to 4 points. Kazan once again increases the gap by means of foul shots. Zakhar reduces it with a three-pointer - 34:31. Fields brings the gap to the minimum. UNICS loses the ball while attacking and Ford following the excellent pass by Pashutin scores a short-distance shot - 34:35. However he is immediately fouled, UNICS does not forgive this. Yudin, shooting from almost outside the arc, again makes “Spartak” the leader. 35 seconds to the half-time break the score is 36:37, and our rival takes a time-out. Lyday shoots a three-pointer and it is “Spartak”’s turn to take a time-out. 31 seconds to the end of the second quarter. Fields keeps the ball almost till the end of the attack and at the very end he shoots and ties the score - 39:39.

The second half starts with Popovich scoring with a foul, the gap increases to 5 points. But Yudin shoots a three-pointer. Zakhar ties the score though Kuzyakin changes it - 46:44. Meshcheryakov - 46:46. Lyday, then Zamansky – UNICS is 4 point ahead. Ford misses underneath the basket while Lyday shoots a three-pointer. 53:46, and our coach asks for time-out. Sharrod Ford fouls and then fails to score while Loncar scores - 56:46. Ford leaves the ground due to 5 fouls. Kuzyakin scores a long-distance shot. Popovich scores a foul shot after Fields’ fouls - 60:46, and then 62:46, "Spartak" takes a time-out. Dedushkin after several attempts finally finishes. Sasha scores foul shots - 63:50. Our central player wins the ball in the next attack. Dedushkin – 2 foul shots. Pashutin at the end of the quarter shoots a three-pointer - 63:55.  

Zozulin – a three-pointer, the gap is 5 point. Our team defends successfully though cannot score. Finally UNICS scores a three-pointer, then Zamansky leaves the ground due to 5 fouls. Dedushkin shoots inside - 66:60. Loncar increases the gap by 2 points. Zvarykin fouls Dedushkin and Sasha brings the score down to 6 point. Lyday – a threepointer. Pashutin - 2. Pashutin scores from the  long distance! 71:67, and UNICS asks for time-out. Popovich scores 2 points, Dedushkin responds. Yudin fouls Popovich, Marko scores. Fields - 75:71, Loncar - 77:71. Our team take a time-out. 1.10.6 to the end of the game. Levans scores with a foul - 77:74. Fields scores two foul shots - 77:76. In less than 10 seconds Zozulin is fouled and Popovich scores a foul shot. 8 seconds. Kuznetsov fouls. Popovich scores. Pashutin shoots and 3 seconds to the end of the game the score is 80:78. 80:78 – UNICS wins.

Pavel Antipov did not play.
