About "Bilbao"

Before the second game of "Spartak" in Eurocup - with Spanish "Bilbao" - James White and Zvi Sherf speak about the game and about the competitor. The journalist of Spanish daily sport newspaper Alfonso Herran also says about the opponent of the red-whites.

James White (player of Spartak): “I think it will be interesting and not easy game. We won the game with Turk Telekom and now we are going to win next game. It will also be interesting to play in the arena with big crowd of Spanish fans. I don’t know who can be considered as a favorite. Basketball in Spain is very good and we look through the records with the games of Bilbao. Now after the victory in last game our team feels more comfortable. We have no the pressure of all these loses in Russian Championships and that’s good”.

Zvi Sherf (head coach of Spartak): “Bilbao is a very good team which participated in the Final 8 of Europcup last year. I was in Torino, I watched the games. Bilbao is a team from Spanish league and today Spanish league is the best league in Europe. We are not favorites but we’ll try to use possibilities we have to go to the second round. Now we have the toughest game in this stage”.

Alfonso Herran (journalist of Spanish daily sport newspaper AS): "Spartak" is an unknown team in Bilbao, although many fans turn to the Internet to learn about it. Many are interested in the team because is on the bench Zvi Sherf, a well known coach around here. When the group met the Eurocup, the best known was the Spirou, last year Bilbao played against it. In Bilbao there are many people who have visited St. Petersburg and are in love with that city.
"Bilbao" is a very popular club in town. This year "Bilbao" left a small pabillion (La Casilla) for 5,000 people and left one for 10,000 because many people were left without seeing the team play. This year Bilbao will host Kin’s Cup of the ACB and there is much enthusiasm in the city and surrounding area. "Bilbao" has nearly eight thousand club’s members and is growing, although the main club in town is the Athletic football".

The game "Bilbao" - "Spartak" will be in December, 1. It will start at 20.00 (local time) and at 22.00 (Moscow time).
On Monday "Spartak" will travel to Spain starting it's voyage at 14.10 (Moscow time) by plane from Saint-Petersburg to Frankfurt and then our team we'll have another plane - to Bilbao where it's planned to be at 18.10 (local time).
