The world championships started in Turkey. Russian team won it's first game - with Puerto Rico - 75:66. We have as we can say double pleasure from the fact that Spartak's player Anton Ponkrashov became the best player of the game. Anton took 10 points from free throws line. His 3-points shoots were not successful but he did succesfully 11 assists.
"We have new team as National team every year. It's very hard to compare feelings with last performances. The feelings are different all the time. Today I am happy. Not only because of my game but for the team first of all. We had a long way for becoming one team. And we prooved by match with Puerto Rico that we are on the right way. Thanks to fans, due to them we won today.
The main weapon of Puerto Rico is a fast game. It seems to me that we could stop them, we were able not to give them to play their basketball", - the press representatives gave the words of Anton.
The guard of Spartak Evgeny Kolesnikov had his debut in Worlds in the match with Puerto Rico. Zhenya played 2 minutes. But we hope that it's only beginning and he shows himself later.
