Spartak took a step forwards to qualify to the Eurocup Quarterfinals and win Last 16 Group K by downing Krka Novo Mesto 68-81 in Slovenia on Tuesday. Spartak improved to 3-0, stayed undefeated in the 2011-12 season and could qualify to the Quarterfinals as soon as next week.

This Monday “Spartak” went to Slovenia, where the third Eurocup Top-16 match of our team will be played — with KRKA. Yotam Halperin dished out 6 assists for the winners. Jermaine Anderson led the way for Buducnost with 11 points, while Cedomir Vitkovac contributed 10 along with 3 steals.

Straight from Moscow Spartak departed for Podgorica, where its performance in the Eurocup Top 16 will be opened with a match with the local Buducnost.

The BEKO Professional Basketball League Russian Championship match with CSKA was lost by Spartak — 79:91. For three and a half quarters the score stayed mostly even. Several times CSKA pulled ahead with a margin of 8 and even 10 points, but Spartak found the strength for comebacks.
