BC Spartak and Alexei Surovtsev agreed about the termination of the contract of the player with the club. It was made by mutual agreement.

Today one more representative of our team has a birthday. Yury Pershin has 20 years old. He was in the junir and youth teams of Spartak and to be in the main team is a good step in the career of the young player. He has a lot of interesting things ahead - usual and non usual. And the main thing here is to believe in himself. We wish to Yura be healthy on this way and go ahead in all situations.

Today our youngest player Ilya Popov has a birthday. He has 19 years old. We congratulate him and wish to strenth his posotions in the team, in the adult basketball, have successes and victories.

He plays often against Jared Homan in practices and sometimes its difficult for Jared to have such opponent. 19-years player has a poosibility to grow in the main team and he can grow if he wants himself. We wish Ilya to have such desire and possibilities as much as possible.

Round 3 in the Miss Cheerleader League of Beauty Contest has started.
Charming cheerleaders from each of the 20 League clubs are once again battling for the affection of basketball fans everywhere. The Miss Cheerleader crown and valuable prizes from League sponsors are at stake!

The contest will consist of five preliminary rounds and one final round (learn more about the format and rules on the contest page, located under the Fan zone menu). Just like last season, online fan voting (“likes”) will play the primary role in selecting the finalists for the Miss Cheerleader title. The voting will be held on the contest page with the help of Facebook and Vkontakte.
Round 3 of the Miss Cheerleader League of Beauty Contest began and features the third group of 10 contestants. Voting will be open for 10 days, closing at 3:00 PM (Moscow Time) on April 12.

Spartak will play in the 1/8 final of the VTB United League with Triumph. The first game will be in St.Petersburg on May 2nd, the second - in Lubertsy on May 5th and if it will be neeeded on May 6th. The time of the matches will be known later.

Spartak-2 now prepares for the last games of the regular championships of the VTB United youth league. During good spring sunny days the team has outdoor practices on the stadium Dinamo. It's very famous historical complex on the Krestovsky island. By the opinion of physical coach of Spartak-2 Sergey Borisiuk it's useful for players to change practice conditions and now the weather allow to do this. Guys work hard during one hour every day.

Nymburk (Czech Republic) picked up a win at home, 89-79, over Spartk in Week 18 of the regular season of the VTB United League championship. The momentum belonged to the home team early, as they scored the game’s first eight points and held the 23-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. The advantage grew to 18 points by halftime and though Spartak outscored Nymburk by eight points in the second half it wasn’t nearly enough to avoid defeat. Nymburk finishes the season with a 5-13 record, while Spartak checks in at 7-11.
The game had no bearing on the Group A standings, with Spartak already safely in the postseason and Nymburk slated to finish 9th. But it did present an opportunity for the home team to give its fans something to cheer about in the final game of the regular season, and a chance for Spartak to prepare for the playoffs.

One more lesson for the players of St.Petersburg's sport schools in the series "Become the star of BC Spartak!" was hels in SIBUR ARENA. This time the coach of the main team Martins Zibarts gave the lesson to 16 young basketball players.

Jared Homan is the MVP of the tour in the VTB United League championships. Homan dominated in the paint, collecting his 6th double-double of the season. In 34 minutes on the court, Jared recorded 26 points (57% from the field), 13 rebounds and two steals, earning an efficiency rating of 25.

Today the physiotherapist of the main Spartak's team Valery Zaruchevsky has a birthday. We congratulate Valera, his experience in our club is 6 years already. We wish him to be healthy physically and mentally, be happy and wealthy.

Gundars Vetra - his rules of life and also about the match Spartak - UNICS. These things are in the new issue of the programm "Above the rym". Watch!

Spartak lost to UNICS - 64:77 -  in Week 16 of the regular season. Gundars Vetra can't fault his men for lack of effort, but Spartak just didn't have the talent needed to win. Playing without Andrew Goudelock, Kazan took over when it needed to and had little trouble pulling out the win.

For Spartak, currently hanging by a thread in the playoff race, every game is huge. UNICS, on the other hand, has already clinched 1st place in Group A. For the first minutes of the game, however, the visitors looked more invested and sprinted out to  a 15-6 lead. Kostas Kaimakoglou stepped up in place of the absent Andrew Goudelock to put UNICS on top. Spartak, though, found itself soon enough. Steven Burtt led the way, scoring 13 of his team's 22 points in the first quarter, with the home team even taking the lead at the end of the period, 22-20.

Artem Yakovenko, Evgeny Fidii, Evgeny Voitiuk and Maxim Tkachenko made a lesson for students of St.Petersburg State marine technical university in SIBUR ARENA. Some Spartak's players such as Alexander Belov. Alexander Bolshakov, Valery Fedorov, Yury Pavlov were the students of this university.

The newspaper Sport-Express has defined the best five players in the VTB United championships in February. The player of Spartak Jared Homan is in it. Also Andrew Goudelock (UNICS), Anton Ponkrashov (Krasnye krylia/Lokomotiv-Kuban), Von Wafer (Krasny Oktyabr), Damian Kulig (Turow) are there. In 3 games of the championships in February Homan took 17 points per game in average and took 4,3 rebounds per game in average.

The doctor of the main Spartak's team Sergey Ivanov has a birthday. We congratulate him and with to be healthy himself, to have happiness in his family and all his life. And we are glad that he changed hockey to basketball. We won in this change!

Ruslan Tumanov. the player of Spartak-2 left the team and will continue his career in Krasny Oktyabr. We received the offer from the club in Volgograd and decided to give Ruslan opportunity to play in the main team of the club. Good luck, Ruslan!
