Jurij Zdovc is the head coach of Spartak

By the decision of Spartak's management Yurij Zdovc will be the head coach of the main team. The agreement is for 3 years."We signed the contract for 3 years because the both sides want stability in the partnership which permits us to plan future developing of the club. Relations between all teams of the club play important role in the activities of the head coach. Only creating full club system we can achieve stability and high results in all tournaments where the team will participate in the future.
As a player Yurij achieved big results and also as a coach showed that he has everything for achievement of big goals. We are sure that we together - the club and the new head coach - can do everything for development", - the president of Spartak Igor Lipskiy said.
Yurij Zdovc
He was born in December 13, 1966 in Yugoslavia (now Slovenia).
As a player he won Europeans-1989 and 1991 and Worlds-1990 like a member of Yugoslavian National team. He took silver medal in Olympic games-1988.
He won Slovenian championships twice like a player of Olimpija and took Slovenian Cup three times. In 2002 he won Adriatic league.
In 1993 he won Euroleague and French championships as a player of Limoges. In 1997 he won French championships as a player of Racing. In 2003 he won Croatian championships as a player of Split.
In 2003 Yurij Zdovc finished his player career and started coach career. In 2009-2011 he was the head coach of Olimpija which left last April by personal reasons. In 2009-2010 he was the head coach of Slovenian National team which took 4th place in Europeans-2009. When he was the head coach of Olimpija the club won Slovenian championships in 2009 and took Slovenian Cup in 2009 and 2010.
